Our Founder's Story
I was born in Aceh
A land where the air itself carries the scent of rain, soil, and green leaves after the monsoon. It’s my hometown, the northern tip of Sumatra, where some of the world’s finest patchouli oil has been grown for generations.
A local farmer once asked me to help sell his patchouli, and when I smelled it I realized how exceptional it was. That moment changed everything.
Because I’ve long been a perfume enthusiast and studied perfumery, I understand how raw essences translate into finished fragrances. That background helps me evaluate grade, distillation quality, and the subtle regional differences that matter to buyers.
So I started curating — choosing only oils distilled and produced with care, from people and places I trust. My role is to ensure that what Tropic Scent supplies meets the standards that serious perfumers and formulators expect.

That moment sparked something in me: a passion to explore other hidden tropical essences across Indonesia — from Ylang-Ylang (Cananga Oil) and vetiver to clove and nutmeg — and to bring them to light. Over time, I learned to recognize the subtle differences between regions, the purity of the distillation, and the depth of each note.
